KEITH JOHNSON

Keith Johnson is a migrant from New Orleans, Louisiana of mostly Irish descent who was planted in the desert southwest of Southern New Mexico as an infant. Although raised primarily by his mother and step-father, a local Hispanic man, he never lost touch of his southern roots. Keith was once described as a bean burrito, white on the outside, but all beans on the inside; a self-proclaimed red-nexican. Always the artist and growing up under the constant supervision of bikers and riff raff, Keith often found himself fascinated with tattoo art and culture. In 2000, while in art school, one such person offered Keith a tattoo apprenticeship, an opportunity at which he un-hesitantly jumped. Aside from a short sabbatical in Nashville, Tennessee where Keith worked in a downtown street shop, he has lived and worked primarily in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Camino Tattoo Studio is the culmination of 15 years of tattooing locally, traveling the country working tattoo conventions and networking with amazing artists from all over the world; as-well-as his passion for fine art and a desire to see his community and neighborhood grow and benefit from a shop which is diverse and richly cultured.

KATIE MENA

Born and raised in Alamogordo, NM, I have been drawing and painting since I was a child. A focus on art and photography classes in high school led me to pursue a career in the art field. I moved to Las Cruces, NM and attended New Mexico State University, studying anthropology and art. My connection with the natural world is inspiration for the works of art I create. Full of vibrant flora and fauna with an emphasis on detail, some of my pieces tend towards scientific realism while others explore cultural tradition and representation.

KEENA WOLFF

I was born and raised right here in New Mexico by my parents who are also artists so I’ve been drawing ever since I could remember! I’ve dabbled in pretty much every medium and found that my favorite is tattooing. I really enjoy full-color work and big bold lines. I’m inspired by everything that has to do with the southwest and the Hispanic culture that I grew up in. Thanks for reading and hope to see you soon!

Design is something I’ve been passionate about for nearly three decades!
